Title : Postcard to the old chapter
The hardest part about starting a new chapter, whether it’s a new job, moving to a different country, or hitting a new milestone in life, is that weird in-between phase. It’s that overlap where you’re still holding onto the ways you coped and even thrived in the last chapter, while also realising you need to let go and start building something new. That can mean learning fresh skills or dusting off ones you haven’t used in a while, like patience, or dealing with failure. And yes, failure. Figuring out how to accept and grow from failure is probably one of the toughest things any of us can learn.
Sometimes, you don’t get the option to avoid those hard decisions or moments in this new chapter. That’s scary stuff, even for the strongest and most independent people. But here’s the thing: every new phase brings its own wins, the moments where it all starts to click, and suddenly all that struggle feels worth it.
So, if I could offer any advice, it’d be this: moving forward isn’t always easy or comfortable, but it’s usually worth it. I don’t know exactly what the next chapter looks like for you, but I do know this: sometimes the view from the top of the hill isn’t what you expected. We push ourselves so hard to get there, only to find it feels underwhelming. But as you start to make your way down, something magical happens, the view expands, becomes clearer, and you see things you couldn’t while climbing.
Your path to where you’re going might not look like anyone else’s, and that’s okay. Trust the process. The journey itself might just surprise you.
Be You. Be Whole,
